Sugar

Ik kon dit boek niet laten liggen.. Het glazuur springt van je tanden als je er naar kijkt - meestal ben ik niet zo'n koekjes/taarten bakker en neig ik eerder naar hartige taart/ pizza/ pasta/ vlees. Op wie zal ik mijn eerste probeersels uittesten? - de recepten gaan per 12 cupcakes, muffins, of per hele cake, vlaai, en bergen koekjes. hmmmmm... gelegenheden zoeken zeg ik.

I just could not resist this book.. The enamel will jump of your theeth - I would usually not go for cookies and pies. I am more of trying quiches/ pizza/ pasta/ meat for meal. So who will test my first try? The recipes are for 12 cupcakes, muffins, per cake, pie and loads of cookies. hmmmm... Searching for opportunities.

Ik had nog een paar foto's nodig van de tasjes in 'actie'. Ik had thuis in ieder tasje iets gedaan waar mijn kleine fotomodel thuis graag mee speelt. Dat maakte de fotoshoot wel erg makkelijk..

I needed some more pictures of the bags. I filled every bag with something my little model likes to play with. It made the photoshoot  very easy..

Shame on me! Het is hier veel te lang stil geweest.. De productfoto's zijn grootendeels genomen, en meer inspiratie dwarrelt door mijn hoofd,  maar die wil ik posten als de winkel open is.. maar eerst moesten er teksten worden geschreven. Tot zover de studio activiteiten..

^ Want waar ik de afgelopen twee weken vooral druk mee ben geweest; het vrijgezellenfeest en de bruiloft van mijn zusje; huis in orde voor feest, huis in orde ná feest, versieringen voor de feestlocatie; het kopen en vooral maken, outfits van mij, manlief en kindlief finetunen. En dan eindelijk de bruiloft - het bijkomen en weer flink wat op te ruimen van al dat maken en maken.

Foto's zijn van het vrijgezellenfeest. De zonnige dag hebben we omgezet in een gezellige avond in de tuin met lichtjes en dekens.. Het was een geslaagd feest, net als de bruiloft overigens!

Shame on me! It's been quiet for to long.. most of the product pictures are taken, and the inspiration is there - whirling in my head. I will post them when the shop is filled.. First, I had some writing for the shop on my mind. So far for the studio activities..

^The last two weeks have mostly been filled with everything around my sisters bachelorparty and wedding; cleaning the house before the bachelorparty, and tidy up afterwards, buying an making a lot of partydecorations, finetuning our outfits. And finally the day of the wedding itself - and the recovering of this all.   And at the end: tidy up and cleaning after all of the making and making..

Pictures are taken at the bachelorparty. We traded a lovely sunny day for a night with a lot of lights and blankets. Both of the feasts where fantastic and filled smiling faces!

Concrete

Vorige week heb ik de eerste ontwerpen afgerond; er moesten nog wat slingers afgewerkt, nog wat knopen aangezet, nog wat handvatten gespijkerd en dat soort.. Nu de foto's nog. Eindelijk komt de vulling van de winkel  in zicht..
Deze week ga ik aan de slag met de foto's; vandaag heb ik een aantal proeffoto's geschoten om te kijken welke achtergrond het meeste 'doet' voor mijn producten. De betonnen achtergrond, en de tas en kussen wil ik jullie niet onthouden; hij schoot vanmorgen ineens door mn hoofd en is wél tof.

Last week I finished the first designs; small things had to be done like completing the garlands, sewing some buttons and handles on. Now the pictures. Finally the filling of the actual shop will be done soon..

This week wil be a week of making and arranging the product pictures. Today I shot a few samples to find out wich background I should use. This concrete wall popped up in my head this morning; I wanted to show you this and the bag and pillowcase..

Leather Lasercut

Vorige week was ik bij het eerste Nederlandse Etsy Lab in het Fablab in de Waag in Amsterdam. We hadden de mogelijkheid om één van de machines te testen met eigen ontwerp. Ik probeerde de lasercutter - het leer stinkt nog.. Maar ik wordt helemaal blij van het mooie strakke resultaat. En het was een gezellige avond!

Last week I visited the first Dutch Etsy Lab at the Fablab at De Waag in Amsterdam. We had the opportunity    to try one of the machines with a small design or picture. I tried the lasercutter - the leather has still a nasty smell.. I'm really happy with the nice and smooth result. It was a pleasant evening!

Heart

Eindelijk heb ik mijn lockmachine uit de doos gehaald en 'getest'. Ik was bezig met de slingers en realiseerde me dat de afwerking strakker wordt met een gelockte kant. Ik heb de gebruiksaanwijzing nog binnen handbereik, maar de eerste mooie meters zijn al gemaakt. 

Met mijn afleiding hangend aan mijn rechterarm.

Binnenkort meer over de collectie.. 

De afronding voor de eerste kidscollectie is in volle gang. En de lijn voor volwassenen gaat daar wat stapsgewijzer achter aan komen.

I finally opened the carton with my 'new' lockmachine and tested it. I was working at the garlands and realised that the finishing could be more properly. Still holding the users guide within reach; but the first meters are done nicely.
